Meet the Team
Dr. William 'Bill' Lutz
"There’s nothing like the kickoff at the Super Bowl – it still gives me chills! You never think that you’d ever be there, but then one day, it happens!” Dr. Bill Lutz knows first-hand since he was sideline at Super Bowl 51 with the Atlanta Falcons, working as part of the Sports Medicine and Performance staff as an Athletic Trainer including 23 games.
Dr. Lutz joined LifeClinic, after moving back home to the Twin Cities, having worked years at a sports chiropractic clinic in Georgia after graduating, with a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University. He has a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine from Georgia State University. He earned his Bachelor of
Science in Athletic Training from Iowa State University. Dr. Lutz also completed an Eastern Medicine study in Taiwan through the University of Georgia.
Working in sports medicine settings from high schools, Division 1, to the NFL, Dr. Lutz saw numerous individual rituals that the athletes would always perform before each game or practice. Each one was different and performed for different reasons, with one exception – almost all would politely line up and patiently wait to be adjusted by the team chiropractor.
Dr. Lutz notes that both his education and time in elite level athletics have a strong emphasis on functional movement, and since the body’s movements are controlled by the nervous system, he learned how to fix miscommunications of the body as a system. “And that’s what led me to where I am today… learning to solve problems rather than just treat symptoms.”
Dr. Lutz is proud to be a provider at LifeClinic because it gives the ability to help active people who are engaged in a sport or task and help them get even better at it. “The more I learned, the more I wanted to make this type of care available to not just elite level athletes, as everybody deserves the chance to have highly functional, quality movement.”
